EU and outside
Citizens of the European Union can enter Germany without a visa. A valid identity card or passport is required.
The following regulations of the Federal Foreign Office currently apply (please click).
For citizens outside the EU: Third-country nationals generally need a visa to enter the Federal Republic of Germany.
There are different types of visas.
Skilled Workers Immigration Act
Skilled workers from third countries can immigrate to Germany more easily. The Skilled Workers Immigration Act facilitates entry for employment as a skilled worker. With a concrete job offer and recognition of their qualification, skilled workers with vocational training from third countries now have access to all professions.
